How to grade a class with GradeMind 👩‍🏫

Set Up Your Exam

one-time per exam

Go to the Teacher Mode page and click Start New Session.
Upload the official question paper (photo or PDF).
Define the point structure — enter each question number and how many points it's worth. Sub-questions like 2a, 2b are supported.
Click Confirm Structure to lock in the exam and move to grading.

Grade Your Students

two ways to upload

Choose how you want to upload student work — images or PDF files.

Option A — Photos

Take a photo of each student's answer sheet.
Enter the student's name when prompted.
Click Grade — results appear instantly in the panel on the right.
Review the AI score, edit any question's points if needed, then click Save & Next to continue to the next student.

Option B — PDF Batch

Rename each student's PDF file as FirstName LastName_email@school.com.pdf before uploading.
Drag & drop all PDFs at once into the batch upload area.
GradeMind processes every file automatically — name and email are read from the filename.
Results are saved and the student list updates as each file completes.

View the full class summary table — every student, every question, total score, and percentage.
Click any student row to see their detailed breakdown and notes.
Click Export to Excel to download a complete class report as an .xlsx file.
Use the Email Results button to send each student their individual grade report — one click, all students.
